I am fully qualified with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Western University and a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Psychology and Sociology from Queen’s University. I’m licensed to practice in Ontario through the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and an active member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). I’m also trained as a massage therapist with an advanced diploma from Fanshawe College, and after years of practice, I chose to hold an inactive license with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) to focus on my psychotherapy practice.
I am a white woman (she/her) with European settler heritage from a blended and neurodiverse family with a long history of military service in the Canadian Armed Forces. I’ve lived both rurally and in urban centres across Canada, backpacked many international countries, and am now happily settled in the Forest City of London, ON, with my husband and son.
I bring a diverse 14 years of experience working in social services and healthcare, supporting military families, individuals involved with the criminal justice system, and people living with symptoms of anxiety, depression, toxic stress, trauma, and chronic pain. When I’m not working, I enjoy mindful movement—yoga, spinning, resistance training, and swimming. I also love walking the surrounding nature trails, curling up with a book and a warm tea, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
Conducting myself authentically with honesty and consistency. Upholding moral principles and ethical standards in challenging situations and being accountable for consequences.
Committed to nurturing healthy & supportive relationships. Bringing genuine care and effort to understand others’ perspectives to foster a sense of mutual respect and belonging.
Always seeking opportunities, driven by curiosity, to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of myself and others to achieve our fullest potential while savouring the learning process.
I have practiced yoga and mindfulness since 2010 and completed my 200hr Hatha yoga teacher training with the Sacred Seed Yoga & Ayurveda School in 2017. I have practiced and learned from many wise teachers, locally, nationally, and internationally. My practice continues to be influenced by my teachers from the Sivananda, Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Forrest, Yin and Restorative traditions, as well as philosophical aspects of Buddhism.
Yoga practices have been invaluable in my journey of healing trauma, mental health, and chronic pain, which is what led me to share these practices with others. However, I acknowledge that cultural appropriation is intertwined with the presence and practice of yoga in the West. As such, I am committed to ongoing learning on how to minimize harm while honouring this spiritual practice and its heritage.
